As we near a turning point in Covid 19’s stranglehold on our economy, there is room for both optimism for the future of our clubs and membership stability. Many clubs experienced significant increases in membership even during the darkest days of the pandemic. Examination of these clubs reveals a clear pattern of enhanced member experiences, trust and a member’s sense of community. Clubs that fared well already understood the power of a relevant member experience, not only to members but to their communities. They understood brand relevance!
As we emerge, there is still uncertainty over what lies ahead. Will membership interest continue to be robust, will cash flow issues during the crisis require assessments? What are the potential downsides that could still linger in the future? Will these new members stay? Do they share the same expectations? These are very real and plausible concerns. Club’s already having discovered relevant member and potential member experiences will likely continue to see growth and retention.
